Horse Maint

Horse Maintenance displays information about horses that have been imported from the RTO Racing Office System via the Race Convert process.  This screen allows the user to update the supplemental purse eligibility flags as necessary.

To select a horse, enter either the first few letters of the name, any whole word within the name, or the entire horse name and press <Enter>.  The system will then display all horse names that contain the characters entered.  The search can be limited by selecting the Breed Type before pressing <Enter> or clicking the search icon.

Based on the search criteria, the system will display horses matching the characters entered.   The search can be changed by adding or deleting letters from the Name field on the search page.   From this view, the user can see the Name of the horse, Breed type, and Eligibility for additional monies from either a State Fund Association or Breeders’ Cup.  To open the horse Maintenance screen, highlight the horse you wish to select by using the up/down arrows and pressing <Enter> or double click the horse name.

The information on this screen is imported from the final program which was produced by your Racing Office.  This information includes horse data that is maintained by the Racing office and breeding information that is received from The Jockey Club Registry.  Each time the horse is imported via the ‘Race Convert’ process, this information is updated.  There are two fields at the top of the screen that can be edited by the user.  All other information is display only.

  1. State eligibility:  This dropdown box displays all appropriate eligibility choices for your home state.  Many states have different levels of eligibility, such as ‘Accredited’, ‘Registered’, or ‘Foaled’.

  2. Eligibility:  If the horse is eligible for Breeders’ Cup or Triple Crown purse monies, the checkboxes will contain a check mark.  These fields are read by the Race Finish process to determine if a horse receives any available purse supplements.

These eligibility flags should be identified at the time of entry by the Racing Office.  If the information is incorrect, the bookkeeper has the ability to update this information.
