The Scratch Maintenance screen allows the user to enter a reason or comment on each scratched horse and track the scratches via the Entry Blank, Scratched Horses Report and the Expanded Starters Report.
The first column will contain either an ‘ES’ indicating an ‘Early Scratch’ or ‘LS’ for ‘Late Scratch’. An Early Scratch is the designation used when the scratch was made at the time of the draw. Late Scratches happen at the time of the race and are recorded by the Equibase Chartcaller. A text box will appear for each scratched horse allowing you to enter the reason for the scratch, or comments. Note: The system will not require a comment on each scratch.
All scratch data entered on this screen will then print out on the entry blank the next time the horse is entered. The data will appear under the workouts and list the scratch date and reason given.
