To begin, select Maint on the Horsemen menu line. On the Search field, enter a minimum of three letters of the account name or the account number, and press <Enter>.
If the account number, or the complete account name is entered, and the system only finds one account with that name, the system will bypass the scanner and go directly to the Account Information screen. The search can be limited by selecting the Account Type before pressing <Enter> or clicking the search icon.
If the system finds more than one account containing the characters entered, the scanner will appear with a listing of accounts matching the characters entered.
With the scanner open, additional search criteria is available to the user. The Name field search can be changed by adding, deleting or entering different letters. The scanner will automatically update as each new letter is added or deleted. Searches can also be performed by Social Security number, Federal ID, or Address. (as entered on the ‘Address 1’ line of the account).
After all search information has been entered and the account still
does not appear in the list, click the
and then press Search.
The system will perform a new search displaying both Active and Inactive accounts. Inactive Accounts are accounts that have been used in the past, but are currently not being used. If an Inactive Account is located, and selected for use, the account can be marked as ‘Active’ on the Account Information tab.
As a quick reference, the scanner displays the following information
about each account:
Account Number, Account Name, Tax Number, Type, (J for Jockey, O for Owner,
T for Trainer, B for Owner/Trainer, P for Payee or C for Control Account.)
Next are three Account Balance columns. Total Balance is the entire
balance in the account. Available Balance is the amount available
to be used by the horsemen for claiming or withdrawal. Held Amount
is the amount of money being held until either the race finish earnings
or personal check deposit has cleared. Note: Control Account balances
do not appear on the scanner.
To access an account, use the up and down arrow keys to highlight the account and press <Enter> or double click the account name. If the account does not exist as an active or Inactive account, create a new account by clicking on the ‘Add New’ button at the bottom of the scanner.
